Privacy Policy
Splitcast runs entirely on your iPhone. It has no accounts, no servers of ours, and no analytics.

The short version. Splitcast does not collect your personal data. There is nothing to sign in to, we operate no server that receives your runs, and there is no analytics, advertising or tracking SDK in the app. Your workouts, your runs, your GPS routes and your heart rate stay on your device unless you choose to save them to Apple Health.

What Splitcast stores on your device
All of the following is written to your iPhone's local app storage. None of it is transmitted to us.

Deleting a run in the History tab removes it. Deleting Splitcast from your iPhone removes all of it.
Location
Splitcast asks for location access so it can measure your pace, distance and route while a run is in progress. Location is used only during an active session.
The app requests background location so that measurement continues when your screen is locked or you switch to your music app, which is the normal way a run is recorded. Your coordinates are written to the run record on your device. They are not sent to us and not shared with anyone.
You can decline location access. Splitcast will still run the interval timer and speak your cues; it simply cannot report pace or distance.
Apple Health
If you grant access, Splitcast uses Apple Health in two directions:
- Reads your heart rate, so a run can show live BPM from your Apple Watch and coach you by heart rate zone.
- Writes a completed run back to Health as a running workout with its distance, so your rings and other fitness apps stay accurate.
Splitcast does not read any other Health data type, and it does not transmit Health data anywhere. Health access is optional and can be revoked at any time in the Health app under Sharing, Apps and Services. Data Splitcast has written to Health is managed and deleted in the Health app, not in Splitcast.
Bluetooth
Splitcast can connect to a Bluetooth heart rate sensor, such as a chest strap, an arm band, or a watch broadcasting its heart rate. It uses Bluetooth only to discover and read from heart rate sensors. The live reading is shown during the run and stored with that run on your device. Splitcast does not use Bluetooth for location, proximity or advertising.
The one time Splitcast contacts a server
Splitcast can import workouts from a coach's spreadsheet. When you paste a Google Sheets link and start an import, your device requests that sheet's CSV export directly from Google.
- The request goes to Google, not to us. We never see it.
- Google receives what any web request reveals, including your IP address, and handles it under Google's own privacy policy.
- Splitcast attaches no account, no identifier and no personal information to the request.
- The sheet's contents are parsed on your device into workouts and stored locally.
If you never import a sheet, Splitcast makes no network requests at all.
What Splitcast does not do
- No user accounts, no sign-in, no email address collected.
- No analytics, crash reporting or session recording.
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- No tracking across other apps or websites, and no sharing with data brokers.
- No selling of personal information.
Children
Splitcast is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects no personal data at all, there is nothing for us to hold.
Your rights
Data protection law, including the GDPR, gives you rights of access, correction, erasure and portability over personal data a company holds about you. Splitcast holds none: everything the app produces stays on your device under your control. To erase it, delete individual runs in the History tab or remove the app.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Splitcast collects data, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described in the app's release notes.
